(To anyone who’s stumbled upon this page and is beginning to read this blog, here are some things you should know about me:
- I am a proud member of the Hufflepuff house, I’m a Libra, a Number 4 on the Enneagram. I’m biracial, and a formerly ADD kid turned Adult (yes, I’ve been diagnosed). I don’t actually follow astrology very closely, and take to the Enneagram only because my family has single-handedly been supporting the continuation of their book sales – it was forced upon me, and somethings stuck – however, this should begin to paint an okay idea of who I am.
- I collect books – free books, books I’ve paid for, books with cool covers, books with interesting titles. I have three sets of the Harry Potter series, because if I find a used one at a thrift store for under $5, my automatic rule of thumb is to buy it.
- Naturally, then, as is assumed and understood widely by those who share this affliction, I do not read at nearly the same rate that I collect.
I’ve decided to read the books that have been sitting on my shelves, beautifully gathering dust over my lifetime. I’ve also recently fully began to appreciate the amazingness that is our public library system! And so, between my personal library, the public one at the top of my block, and the large variety of Free Little Libraries that can be found in my neighborhood, I’m setting out to read 50 books in 2020 without buying a single one.
I’ll be crossing genres and themes, and will be cataloguing my experience here MOSTLY so that I have an active log and can actually remember the books that I am reading!
So here we go…
